NaNoWriMo Week One

So the first week of NaNoWriMo is over and I’m still slugging in there keeping my head above water. You can read some of the first draft here. It’s flawed and raw but the fact I’m actually writing something of length and managing to sustain it, is a good thing for me. 😊 Hopefully I’ll get to the end, if not I can carry on writing until I need to stop.

This year I’ve gone against all the advice normally give others and not planned on paper what I’m writing. I have the general idea locked away in my head, but am coming up with more ideas as I go along. At the end it might turn into a giant piece of swiss cheese, but be the foundation for a better edited version where I can fill the holes.

Today I’m taking a day off to do some ‘money’ work. Hoping that later it won’t come back to bite me at the end of the month, but I need to eat and drink.

I like to have music on when I’m writing, mainly prog rock in the morning, but in the afternoon I tend to like to play different music. Set up a playlist of some of my favourite tracks on Spotify. I’ve added a link to the playlist below if you’re interested.
